You can use either the serial ribless cable, or the USB cable for the upgrade. You can view the amount of upgrades ordered & remaining in the dongle via CPS. This dongle allows the CPS to perform a hard-set number of FLASHport upgrades. There is a hardware dongle called an "I-button reader", which plugs into the parallel port of the computer (there are also USB versions out now). The CPS will use this data to perform the upgrade. There will be the actual FLASHport data, on a CD, to be installed onto your computer.
If you're lucky, they will in turn supply you with a couple of things to do the upgrade. You have to give them your current flashcode(s) as well & tell them what specific feature(s) you want added.
Large business customers & government departments are given priority over Joe Blow off the street.īasically, you need to supply Motorola with the model# of your radios, and a list of serial numbers. They are difficult to obtain, as they must go through Motorola directly. XTS5000 radios require a FLASHport upgrade, which is very different than the firmware reflashing you can do for Waris radios.

Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate just purchase it.įor M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package.
Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity.
